Cú Chulainn as the Ríastrad takes hold

Cú Chulainn , most famous of hero's of ancient Irish battle-lore, enraged by the invasion of his homeland of Ulster, he enters the warp spazm, known originally in Old Irish as the Ríastrad—a terrifying, grotesque supernatural battle frenzy experienced by the demigod hero Cú Chulainn. Rather than a simple adrenaline rush or standard "berserker" mode, medieval texts like the Táin Bó Cúailnge (The Cattle Raid of Cooley) describe it as an extreme form of physical body horror that transforms him into an unrecognisable, indiscriminate lord of Death. The Morrigan, the goddess of Death and constant companion of the warrior hero, flies past in the form of a Raven, a harrowing omen for the enemies of Ulster
